Painting time

Well, I was bored again this last weekend, due to widowitis. It's what I sometimes get when my husband is gone for an extended amount of time due to crazy work hours and I start to feel like I am not married anymore. So I do some desperate things when I start feeling this way like looking around at my house, then at my moms and seeing if anything needs to be transplanted, luckily my mom is an eager giver and has a lot of garage sale worthy stuff in my dads shop that he is equally eager to get rid of, so he can have more room for his own junk.
So this last weekend I inherited her old CD player which might not sound like a great find, but I don't have an IPOD, so am still in the stone age using CD's. Then I got her old sewing machine stand, I felt the frustration of sewing would ease the symptoms of my disease. I also got the old mirrors to my bedroom set and had the idea to paint them, the pictures don't do them justice, they're uglier in person.
I also got an old sewing machine chair too that has a hole in the seat that will somehow get patched. So after I made out like a bandit, I spent the rest of the day painting. Our front door was red, but I didn't care for it much, so now after a patient sister and 3 trips to Ace Hardware for a color match, I finally found this on-the-shelf color and called it good. I like the result, I just need a cute wreath to go on it....."mom....."
I also painted the mirrors brown and they look hideous. Luckily I was able to find some knobs for my moms old dresser at Target at a great price and got that project finished finally. All in all it was a productive weekend.

Thanks to some amazing painting ability, the front door looks awesome! To put it nicely the mirrors are hideous!

When your single you can always find some projects to keep you busy. The front door really does look nice. Maybe one day I can see your new house. Hopefully around the holidays you will have a husband again. For a short time at least.

Michelle, your blog is awesome. You'll have to teach me how to post the multiple pictures in a box like you do. Thanks for sharing. I posted some new stuff on our blog so you can go check it out. We missed having you there. More woman company would have been great! Hope to see you soon.

widowitis huh? thats pretty much been your marriage between fires and oil fields! You are a free spirit though. You would probably die if he were pokin around all the time! I am so glad we can keep in touch through this thing too!
