Hiking up Rock Creek

My mom is the best sport ever!! A couple years ago she hiked the Kings Peak trip with me, then she did Timpanogos the next year, then....she was again a great sport this fall to do another hike this time, Rock Creek, which is North of the Still Water Dam and resevoir. We thought we would just take it easy, but it always happens, curiosity gets the best of you and you just have to keep seeing what's up ahead, even though all 3 of your granola bars were eating long ago and it's incredibly hot and the trail is steep. We made it up these switchbacks wishing to see a lake or something significant, but no, just more mtns. So at this point we'd been hiking for 4 hours and were tired, we decided to turn around, much to my moms disappointment. We passed some horsemen on the way down and told them where we'd been, we had no clue how far, but they said that we had hiked 10 miles, so that means at 4 pm that afternoon and a lot of stopping to dip our toes in the river or take pictures we made it 20 miles. We could not eat the sandwiches we had left in the car fast enough, and just missed a major downpour by the time we hoped in the car. Thanks mom for being so tough at such an old age, and caring that your daughter might get eaten by a bear if she hikes alone :) You are such a good example to me, most moms would say forget it, not you.

Your mom rocks! I love reading about all of your adventures. Remember doing service in the Lodi Library and going through books, picking out the cool places we'd travel too? At least one of us is doing it!!
