On the first weekend of October we were lucky enough to be able to go down Westwater Canyon. The put-in is just outside Green River and then floated about 17 miles downriver to the ghost town of Cisco. The water was running about 3200 cfs and the rapids were a little more difficult than they are at higher levels. I realized it's good to get my momentum going in order to punch through some of the holes, one of them surfed me for a little bit and that was all the convincing I needed. This trip also reminded us how easy it is to take a quick weekend trip down the canyon and how close it is to us, we are going to do it more often in the future. Everyone had fun listening to Dave's stories. I like the picture where all the kayakers are gathered around his boat while he's telling them one of his funny stories.
The weather was perfectly warm and the water wasn't too cold yet. We met up with some friends from Cedar City days and friends of theirs showed up also. We are looking forward to meeting up with everyone again in November and doing it all over again.

These adventure trips of yours are killing me! I want to be out there doing it with you. Be thankful you are able to go with your husband and do such fun things. It seems like those days are long past for me, but, I know we'll start again soon in the future doing adventures with our own kids. We all have different phases in our lives, right?
How fun!! I'm a big fan of river trips now;) Dave is great, I love that pic as well.
