SKIING WITH THE GIRLS

A couple weeks ago we girls had a fun day at Sundance. I have been wanting to take Macey, my neice, skiing for a couple years and was happy to have a willing mom and sister too. Macey being 4 years old now is more than qualified and I knew her athletic would help. It was a sunny day and the snow was perfect, not a bit of ice and it was warm. I was a little hesitant not knowing how she would take to the whole experience but as always Macey was completely excited and gave it her all. The first ski lift ride we rode she was loving it. I have to admit I have really missed ski instructing over the past few years, but it was a good reminder as to why so many (young) college students do it for work. My main motivation was to get her to quit falling down so I would limit my hiking time.
The funniest quote of the day was when we were halfway down the first run and she was feeling a little worked over she stopped in her biggest pizza move and said, "Chell, when are we goin shoppin?" I thought oh man we need to do more things like this rather than go shopping with the girls all the time. I said, "Macey we're not shoppin today we're skiin" The day turned out great after the first run, Macey took a quick snack break while mom and I took off and when we met back up she was good to go. For the next 3 1/2 hours she did not stop and loved the freedom of sliding on snow and was wanting to go through trees and powder. It was also fun to see mom ski after 6 years of not going, she was pretty excited when she didn't fall getting off the lift the first time.
It was so fun to just have it be the girls out enjoying the mountains together.

What a little chap for going skiing for the first time. I am sure that she will be a pro by the time she is in her teens, due to her awesome teacher. Spending time with the girls is always a blast.

You are such an awesome aunt! You need to come down and teach me how to ski. Brayden would love a good skiing partner.
