Elk Hunting

Blanding, Utah
Around the end of July Dave and I went to Blanding for a pre-hunt scouting session with our friends Paula and Braedon Richmond who drew an elk tag for the upcoming bowhunt in August. This was the first time I was able to go into the Blue Mountains and Elk Ridge area and it was incredible! I guess all mountains have certain things that make them unique and these have a lot of red and white cliffs with very dense forests. We rode our 4-wheelers all around and set up cameras around watering holes and wallows, which is a place they like to roll around in the mud. We loved hanging out with Braedons family and enjoyed getting away for a few days. I came off the mountain on Saturday and hung out with my mom and dad in-law and my sister in-law Cami whose baby is 3 weeks old and adorable. It was fun to take the kids on rides and just hang out. Dave came off the mountain late Saturday night and then we headed home on Sunday.

Going up in the mountains is always fun with friends & family. Sounds like the area was really pretty. I wish we had 4-wheelers to have fun adventures with.
